Concerts is an educational concert project dedicated to building a genuine and lasting connection between music, musicians, and diverse audiences. By combining live performances with accessible storytelling, we transform concerts into shared cultural experiences that go beyond listening and invite reflection, dialogue, and discovery.
We collaborate with cultural partners to host concerts in a variety of inspiring spaces — from historic buildings and cultural institutions to contemporary venues across the city. Each concert is conceived as an intimate and welcoming event, where music is presented in close connection with its context. Performances are accompanied by short narratives that introduce musical works, composers, traditions, and their links to world cultures and to the city of Porto, helping audiences engage with the music on a deeper level.
A core goal of the project is to support emerging musicians and ensembles by giving them visibility, a professional platform, and direct contact with their audiences. At the same time, Concerts has become an important meeting point for musicians themselves. Through the project, many artists have met for the first time, exchanged ideas, and found inspiration for new collaborations. Duets, ensembles, and even choirs have emerged organically from these encounters, highlighting the role of the project not only as a concert series, but as a space for artistic connection and growth.
We believe that music should be accessible to everyone, which is why many of our concerts are free or offered in an open format. By creating an atmosphere of openness and curiosity, the project welcomes listeners of all ages and backgrounds, including those who may not usually attend educational or classical concerts. Through shared moments of listening, conversation, and collaboration, Concerts contributes to a vibrant, inclusive cultural life and strengthens the connection between music, people, and the city.
